Hotel located in a unique landscape, in the untouched nature of Tuscany between the enchanting Val d’Orcia and the surroundings of Monte Amiata. The Locanda “del Cacciatore” already existed after the war and was a very important resting place for travelers and hunters as well as a meeting place and shop for the locals. The Niccolini family manages the facility with forty years of experience. The recent renovation has embellished the rooms with individual colors and furnishings that convey warmth, history and the best you can imagine.

The hotel is located in the d.o.c. del Montecucco just a few minutes from the Brunello di Montalcino and Orcia wine areas, where you can discover many traditional gastronomic specialties based on game and fresh vegetables, typical dishes of the area and our restaurant. All prepared with extra virgin olive oil from organic farming and the saffron of Fattoria Niccolini®, own production, and accompanied by a large wine list. During the summer you can use the terraces of the restaurant and those of the rooms to taste our cuisine.

Its strategic position, between the Val d’Orcia and Monte Amiata, on a hill of 500 meters, will give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the still wild nature of this corner of Tuscany. The hotel indicates numerous trekking routes, the artistic and cultural park of the Val d’Orcia and the wildlife park, organize visits to various wineries and give directions for the most beautiful visits at your convenience.

Mount Amiata, of volcanic origin, offers various thermal springs: the Roman baths of BagnoVignoni, those of Bagni San Filippo and the famous Terme di Saturnia. A few kilometers away, in opposite directions, are the famous Benedictine abbey of Sant’Antimo and the Tibetan center of Merigar.
