Ski and snowboarding

Monte Amiata is a destination for ski and snowboard lovers. There are 8 ski lifts that go up 10 km of slopes for alpine skiing; the 12 slopes with programmed snow cover form the ski area located in the key points of the mountain: the Vetta, the Prato delle Macinaie, the Prato della Contessa, the Cantore Refuge and the Pian della Marsiliana.
In the Municipality of Seggiano skiers can make a base to take the ski lifts to Marsiliana where there are also ski instructors and school camps very suitable for beginners and children. When there is a lot of snow, the paths that go into the forest allow pleasant excursions on cross-country skis and snowshoes.
