In Seggiano it is possible to take two itineraries called the Wine Road Ring and the Olivastra Ring, but also two paths that are part of the Tuscan hiking network.
The Wine Route Ring is a 7 km itinerary with a travel time of about two hours and a medium difficulty, which starts from Seggiano and continues towards the Castle of Potentino, then going towards the town of Poggioferro, crossing the most suitable area to the cultivation of the vine.
The Olivastra Ring is an 8 km route with a travel time of about two and a half hours and a medium difficulty, which leads the visitor to discover landscapes dominated by the olive groves of Olivastra Seggianese.
The other two itineraries connect one of Seggiano to Altori and the other Seggiano to Castel del Piano.
In addition, the local paths intersect with the network of paths that cross the Amiata, allowing a connection with all the towns in the area, the mountains and also with the great routes of the southern Tuscany trails. The network of trails of the Mountain Community has at its center the Ring of the Mountain, the magnificent twenty-eight kilometer long itinerary that goes around the volcano at altitudes between 1050 and 1300 m. among woods of beech, chestnut and oak species. Coming from Pescina, you enter the ring at Fonte Capo Vetra near a forest shelter. The complete route takes about a dozen hours. Trekking enthusiasts can therefore follow one of the many possible itineraries, or use the marked routes that connect the paths of the Municipality and Amiata with some of the most interesting places in the Maremma and the Sienese (Pitigliano, Saturnia, Montalcino, Pienza). Many paths (not all, however) can be used by mountain-bike enthusiasts or even trails with horse trekking organized by specialized operators.
