The garden takes its name from the Swiss artist Daniel Spoerri, who at the beginning of the 90s began to frequent the area of Arcidosso and Seggiano and bought an estate on the slopes of Monte Amiata which in ancient maps was marked with the name of “Paradise” . It was in this area that the dancer, painter, choreographer and sculptor decided to create a sort of park-museum, in which to collect both the works he himself created and those made by his friends. The garden extends over 16 hectares of land and hosts 113 installations by 55 different artists.

In 1997 the homonymous foundation was born which will also decide to open the garden to the public.
